Hey there,
I'm not a great singer.
I'm also not a terrible singer.
Decent enough pipes to carry a simple, folksy, guitar-driven tune that lives in one comfy octave.
I’ve made peace with never loving what I hear in my headphones.
Apparently there's actual science behind why we hate our own voices. I’ve watched a few YouTube videos about it, which makes me pretty much an expert.
Remember that song about puberty I teased last week? Drums are done. The breakdown video should be hitting your YouTube homepage in the next day or so. Watch me finger-drum my way through it.
Now that it’s vocal time, I can’t wait to see all the super productive activities I come up with to procrastinate my way out of standing behind the ‘ole U47 clone.
My guess is that most of you are MUSIC makers first, correct? Even the finest instrumentalists often feel the pull to venture into the deep, dark unknown of lyrics and melody.
Does this resonate with you? I’m sure a future YouTube video will cover this ever-present insecurity of mine, so if you have any tips, I’ll take all the help I can get!
Talk soon,
Jon
