You're not wasting enough time

Hey there,

Sometimes the absolute best thing you can do for your productivity is noodle the afternoon away on your instrument.

The only reason I have a life in this business is the hours, days, and years spent completely wasting time on my guitar.

It's not just a good idea, it's a requirement. Take a break.

My bookshelf is full of productivity books, btw. I'm currently reading Deep Work by Cal Newport. It's great. I need to read it. It will help me, if I let it.

But art is about discovery. Trial and error. Yet my day is filled with To Do lists and tasks that must be perfect.

That's just life. Adults are expected to be perfect, at least some of the time.

I'm getting better at knowing something is worthwhile even when there's no way to track its value on a spreadsheet.

Most likely you're thinking about something very specific right now. Pencil it in after lunch.

Talk soon,

Jon

I've floated the idea of group coaching in the past, but haven't been able to make it work yet. The guy who needs to read more productivity books often finds himself overextended. Can you believe it?

So I'm trying something different: one on one calls. As more and more of you reach out wanting feedback or a conversation, I've set up a recurring Calendly invitation. 60 minutes, just us, $150.

Pick the one you need:

  • Licensing catalog review
  • Sample library plan
  • Career path
  • YouTube video creation

I can't offer placements for your music or library contacts, but I can talk about making stuff all day long, and I'm willing to take a listen. Not sure how long I'll keep this open, so grab a time.
